Torque raises £28,738 for Simon on the Streets

Over 2019 and early 2020 Torque sites worked with great effort, fundraising for our Community Partner, Simon on the Streets.

A huge variety of fun events were organised for staff – bake sales, coffee mornings, sleep outs, own clothes days, competitions, quizzes, staff sales and car washes all helped to raise an incredibly impressive £28,737.55.

'Working with Torque over 2019 and into 2020 has been amazing. As we navigate through this difficult pandemic period, the money raised and donated to us is going to ensure the survival of Simon on the Streets during a time where our income has taken a hit in other areas. Some of our bigger events used to fund our outreach work across Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees have sadly had to be cancelled, these funds will be invaluable in ensuring this work can continue, at a time when it is needed the most. We are truly grateful to all colleagues at Torque and their partners who have supported us throughout the year."

Natalie Moran
CEO, Simon on the Streets

A huge well done and thank you to all the Torque Ambassadors that helped organise and plan Community Partner events. A note of thanks must also be extended to our customers, many of which kindly donated stock for staff sales which helped raise a large portion of the total fundraising amount.

Lastly, thank you and well done to every Torque colleague that donated their time and money to help achieve such a spectacular amount for Simon on the Streets. It will make a difference to many people in a time when charities are struggling to continue to provide services.
