Introducing Torque’s new Community Partner: Homeless Hampers
Torque has teamed up with Homeless Hampers, a West Yorkshire organisation that supports people experiencing homelessness and those in poverty by providing essential supplies and advice.
Throughout the year, we’ll be hosting our usual on-site fun-raising events and we’ll be supporting the charity more directly via volunteering. Team Torque has been asking for opportunities to be more hands-on with our community partners, and Homeless Hampers has projects that allow our team to do just that.
More about Homeless Hampers
Weekly Outreaches
Homeless Hampers’ work includes weekly outreaches, often distributing 150+ meals and 25 litres of hot drinks in a single evening. They also provide essentials like toiletries, clothing, blankets, and sleeping bags. In addition to their weekly on-the-street outreach, they supply food to shelters four days a week.
Ongoing, Long-Term Support
Along with their weekly outreach programs, Homeless Hampers provides ongoing support designed to help service users realise their potential and achieve their goals. This can include providing access to advice regarding social and housing needs, sourcing support for alcohol and drug abuse recovery, and providing services to develop skills, knowledge, and self-confidence.
