Kits for the Community
Last year, Torque’s employees were given the chance to nominate local community teams that mean something to them, to receive financial help towards their kits.
Ten teams were selected for the sponsorship:
- Snaith Junior AFC, North Yorkshire – nominated by Jim Wilson, WO6 Site.
- Wakefield City Cheerleaders, Wakefield – nominated by Michelle Butler, Wakefield Site.
- Kippaz Kites Rounders, West Yorkshire – nominated by Samantha Byram, WO6 Site.
- Wortley Football Club, Leeds (Juniors U9 & U12 Colts) – nominated by Katie Gatenby and Seb Pasterczyk, WO6 Site.
- JFK Gaelic Football Club, Leeds – nominated by Micheal Sweeny, Wakefield Site.
- Neon Dance Studio, Doncaster – nominated by Mandy Woodrow, Castleford Site.
- Burnham Juniors Football Club, Slough – nominated by Emma Strachan, Heston.
- St Patricks Under 16 Ladies Rugby Team, Wigan – nominated by Gail Hill, Wigan.
- Hoylandswaine Junior Cricket Club, Barnsley – nominated by Tony Clegg, Castleford.

Kippaz Kits
``The opportunity and commitment to funding provided by Torque is a great help in the purchase and supply of kits for my grassroots football team. As with many voluntary funded organisations, all funds are gathered through fundraising and donations. As with many sport/leisure clubs a sense of identity is paramount; Snaith Juniors FC has a kit supplier with agreed home and away kits, it may sound simple but all our children wearing a standard kit provides a sense of identity and pride.``
``We can't express how much Kits for the Community has helped our Cheerleading Group, Wakefield City Cheerleaders! We are based in a community where many of our families struggle to afford the simple things in life; therefore, for us as a group to provide a training kit free of charge due to the generosity of companies like Torque is just incredible! We are a voluntary non-profitable organisation, and all our trainers give up their free time to give these children a haven and the chance to be involved in such a fantastic sport. There is very little funding out there for groups such as ourselves, and we appreciate every little bit of help. Thank you so much! Thank you for making a difference.``
Wakefield City Cheerleaders
``The 'Kits for Communities' campaign has had a massive impact for us at NEON Studios in Adwick, Doncaster. Our dancers are athletes that train 6 days a week and compete all over the UK both nationally and internationally. Through sponsoring our team, Torque has provided equal opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to wear our uniform with pride whilst they travel country-wide, doing what they love.
We cannot thank them enough and hope to continue to hold the titles the girls have worked so hard for.``
Neon Dance Studio
``John F. Kennedy's boasts a very successful history, with the pinnacle being crowned All Britain Champions in 1983, an outstanding achievement for all involved. Year on year, coaches and mentors (volunteers) work tirelessly to keep the club ticking, and today we field teams at Under 8's, 11's, 13's, 15's and senior levels.
At Easter next year, our Under 15's team will be making the trip over the water to compete against some of Irelands finest Gaelic Football Teams. It is our Under 15's team which will benefit from the sponsorship kindly donated by Torque and for this we are greatly appreciative.``
``Hoylandswaine Cricket Club is extremely grateful for the support Torque has given to our community cricket club. The junior section is looking forward to wearing the new cricket shirts for the 2022 cricket season. If it weren't for businesses supporting our cricket club we wouldn't be able to continue.``
``We are so grateful for the sponsorship from Torque. The boys are excited to get their new away kits, and it will make life so much easier for the parents. Nice to have support from the community around us. Thank you again.``
